Lake Erie Magazine Rack

This was a piece I customized for a client updating a water-stained dark lacquered magazine rack into a bedside stand for a lake side cottage. Two shades of blue were used to brighten the piece and pay homage to the water. Nautical maps of Lake Erie were decoupaged on the sides of the magazine rack to hint at the house's specific location. Much of the dark wood was kept to create interesting contrasts from different vantage points.
